Our Local Partners Our partner in Ukraine is the Christian Reformed Church in Mukachevo. The Christian Reformed Church in Mukachevo is the church plant that we have been involved in starting. As the ministries of the ethnically Hungarian Reformed congregation in the town of Mukachevo grew, more and more ethnic Ukrainians became interested in the Reformed faith. At the request of the pastors of the Hungarian congregation George began to work with those who didn't know Hungarian but were attending the Hungarian church. After a couple of years of Bible studies a committed core group desired to form into a congregation in order to better reach out to more Ukrainian speakers with the good news. In the winter of 2003-2004 the group worked on the process of officially organizing and in April of 2004 the Christian Reformed Church in Mukachevo was officially registered with 14 founding members. Since then the congregation has doubled in size and is seeking to fulfilling God's will for her in Mukachevo. Link to CRC in Mukachevo's website
Although not official "partners" we also have ties to the following churches and organizations in Ukraine: The Reformed Church of Carpathian Ukraine is an ethnically Hungarian denomination in the Transcarpathian region of Ukraine. Link to the English website of the Hungarian Reformed Church in Hungary An interesting article written by former bishop of the RCCU, László Horkay, about the RCCU "Solidarity", a Christian, non-profit organization in the city of Ivan-Frankivsk, addresses the needs of prostitutes, poor, and people with HIV. The leader of this organization has started a small, Reformed congregation. Solidarity's website is available in English at www.solidarnist.com.ua
