Our Local Partners Our partners in Ukraine are the Reformed Church of Carpathian Ukraine and the Ukrainian Reformed Church in Mukachevo. The Reformed Church of Carpathian Ukraine is an ethnically Hungarian denomination in the Transcarpathian region of Ukraine. This church invited George to mentor their local missionaries and assist in outreach to Ukrainian-Russian speakers. As the ministries of the ethnically Hungarian Reformed congregation in the town of Mukachevo grew, more and more ethnic Ukrainians became interested in the Reformed faith. At the request of the pastors of the Hungarian congregation George began to work with those who didn't know Hungarian but were attending the Hungarian church. After a couple of years of Bible studies a committed core group desired to form itself into a congregation in order to better reach out to more Ukrainian speakers with the good news. In the winter of 2003-2004 the group worked on the process of officially organizing and in April of 2004 the Christian Reformed Church in Mukachevo was officially registered with 14 founding members. Since then the congregation has almost doubled in size and is seeking to define its vision and develop a mission statement to guide it in fulfilling God's will for her in Mukachevo.
